GARDENS is encouraging nutrition education and promoting healthy and eco-friendly food choices is vital according to modern policies and intends to improve the competences of educators and other adult education staff and young people. Especially in the topics of healthy nutrition, emphasizing the promotion of this subject through diverse and effective teaching methodologies.
Schools play a significant role in fostering healthy and eco-friendly behaviours, food literacy, and environmental education, as well as safeguarding and promoting proper nutrition in children, their families, and communities. There are several ways to incorporate food literacy and nutrition instruction in schools, from the core curriculum to extracurricular activities. Moreover, schools are a great place to spread information on health to the entire student body.
As part of its efforts, GARDENS will develop innovative learning materials in the form of a NFE module-based learning path integrating a hybrid methodology, tailored to the target user and based on the delivery of digital video game sessions. The TF will also include the guidelines for the creation of digital tools for the use in the schools. The project will also create an in-app simulator game containing plays, tests, stories and interactions to be enjoyed by the pupils in a funny, eye-catching and smart way.
